In the early 1960’s Larry O’Connell finished his apprenticeship and got a job working for Cartier as their sole engraver on Bond Street.
Realising his potential, he opened his own company in 1971, he formed O’Connell’s Engravers, in Maddox Street. As the company grew Larry, employed Terry Yardley and soon made him partner to create O’Connell and Yardley engravers. Their reputation grew and soon they provided services for most of the Jewellery Houses in Bond Street including, Cartier, Boucheron, Mappin & Webb and Asprey.
Larry’s son Keith joined the company and as technology moved forward, he set up a machine engraving department, Tiffany & Co opened in London in the 80’s and Keith became an integral part of building their corporate engraving department.
Fast forward 30+ years and today Keith’s son, James O’Connell, 3rd generation engraver has established new premises and built a team capable of carrying out all engraving services and comes recommended by luxury brands such as Cartier, Boucheron, Harrods, Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason and many more.
O’Connell’s now specialise in all engraving services and also Leather embossing.
